Building a Stronger Community Together
I am running for select board because I believe in creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. If elected, I will prioritize transparency, listen to the voices of every resident, and work to create sustainable policies that benefit our seniors, schools, and our natural resources. I believe in making decisions that are fair, pragmatic, fact based, and focused on long-term success. Together, we can make decisions rooted in love for our town. Decisions that protect our town, support our seniors, and secure a bright future for our children. I am asking for your vote on May 6th so that we can work together to preserve the Westford we all cherish.
A Vision for Our Community: Why I'm Running for Select Board
My roots in this town run deep; my daughter is the sixth generation of our family to call Westford home. Westford is not just a place where we live - it is home in every sense of the word, and I am committed to preserving and nurturing it for future generations.
The budget is a critical concern. I plan to work with town departments to determine the town's wants and its needs. We need a sustainable budget that prioritizes essential services and affordable living, while supporting the rural charm and excellent schools that draw people to Westford.
I am deeply committed to the future of our schools. The decisions we make today will shape the educational landscape of tomorrow, and as a parent, I have a personal commitment to the children of our town. Protecting the quality of our schools is not just an investment in their education but in the very fabric of our community.
I worked in hospice and home health care in Westford for fourteen years, the well-being of our seniors is very near and dear to my heart. Addressing the needs of our senior community, including the escalating costs of living for so many on fixed incomes, is high on my priorities. Our seniors have given so much to Westford and deserve our support in ensuring they can live with dignity and security as part of our community.
For the past four years, I have had the honor of serving on Westford's Conservation Commission, working to protect our natural resources. I have seen firsthand the delicate balance we must maintain between development and conservation. I envision a Westford where development works in harmony with the landscape. Where we prioritize planting native species, preserving open natural spaces for wildlife, and maintaining the health of our natural resources. I want to make sure that the part of our town that cannot speak for itself has a strong voice. This approach will not only protect our environment and ensure a more sustainable future, but also preserve the character of our town.
